MONT ST ANNE

Well being the lucky lady i am i was in CANADA last week to race the world cup in mont st anne. This was the first time in Canada and to me it seemed just like what America would be like (never really been there either). BIG cars BIGGER cars and bigger people. Some what of a culture shock after staying in Korea where most of the girls have legs the size of my arms (they also stand as high as my elbow) so im not that huge. Finally arrived after a horrible drive after the fabulous flight which i had to hang out after for 5 hours till the others arrived. Im not complaining
Well the track was awesome and i really enjoyed it. The problem was that i would have enjoyed it more had have i had a good leadup. The track was long and my streghth in my upper body was pretty bad esspecially my hands. All this improves with more riding but i hadnt really done any. The track was fast and cornery and i knew i had good potential. BUT that all went out the rear when i crashed race run. I knew there was more speed in me somewhere but i couldnt harness it so basiclly it was i horrible mental torture weekend. I did enjoy the experience and got to meet up with MORE kiwis Amy and Kieran.
Had an awesome last night with it also being Quibec day. I didnt pay a cent to get into the gig(i dont think any kiwi did). The speedy turtle(amy and my celebration drink) didnt last me long but it kept me going till the sun started to rise and i thought it best head home and pack my bags so i didnt miss the lift to the airport 4 hours away.

thats it

At this time it is almost 2 am in seoul, South korea. I am wide awake as my body clock likes to be awake right now. I have been here with luke my team mate and Gavin our manager to meet up with Ssang Yong our major sponsor to try sweeten the deal. Its been really cool as while gavin does the work Luke and i got to play. We were taken out by Mr Phillip for 2 days to see the sights of Seoul. Didnt really manage much but what we did see was very historic and cultural. Had some real Korean food and Japanese(never had that much so spend so always done the cheap way) this was cool and Mr Phillip was impressed at how well i could get around my food with chop stick. . . see never underestermate a hungry red head. We then had a day of riding with some of the local MTBers and rode one of the many hills they have here surrounding Soeul. Today (sunday) luke and i compete in a local fun ride that is 18km long and runs through seoul. That will be interesting especially because i have a MTB to ride it with. . . lucky me.

After that we head back to Geneva where Luke will stay and i will fly out the next day and head to Canada for the 3rd round of the World Cup. Life is grand so i guess ill leave it there and get some sleep so that i can actually finish the race without a siesta in the middle.

CHARMER

Last weekend was nothing spectacular with Antonio and James 50km away racing a boys only at willingen. This left Luke and I to our own devices to keep ourselves entertained. On the Thursday when we decided not to ride as boogies were still coming out of our noses at an alarming rate. Instead we headed down the road to nimberland (think its German for never land) which we saw advertised as a reptile zoo. Walking in we stood out like elephants in a mare cat cage as every one was a meter tall and not wearing jandles (sandals for non kiwis).
We went into THE REPTILE room which looked largely extremely uninteresting from the outside. Looks are very deceiving. For 2 euros (bargain) we got to see about 70 interesting creatures including little spiders, big spiders (see pic), chameleons, lizards, centipedes, little snakes, big snakes(see pic), freakin massive snakes(see pic). And we even got to hold a spider and snakes; Luke was a big baby and couldn’t hold the spider. This was wicked and I recommend it to anyone in winterberg.Sunday we headed to see Ant and James race where there was 30.000 euros up for grabs. All the big names were there trying to get there hands on some of the moola. The boy’s race didn’t go as planned with Ant crashing and James with not such a great one. Sam B the kiwi impressed with a 4th place beating some impressive names. The race was very tight with the first 6 riders on the SAME second.

Now we are back in Italy with the 2nd World cup coming up this weekend.Cheers

Jenna

Here we have jamess attempt to make rice. This is what was left over after eating half our weight in rice each. He used the whole packet of rice. An honest mistake that we'l keep an eye out for next time he cooks dinner. The dinner was good, i wont take that away from him

Here is luke directing me in the right direction. . .ohhh golly look at those guns (bicepts) there soo big. And he was scared to hold an iddy biddy spider. . . . pussy.
